Chris’s Professional career spans over 17 years with experience in both government rail entities and private enterprise. Chris has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Technology, Sydney. Chris has worked through all phases of project delivery, from feasibility, concept, design, construction and commissioning in both the private and public sectors. His main experience is within the Rail Sector however he has also has experience in Roads and other sectors.
Chris’s strengths lay in his experience in managing large multi-disciplined rail projects and his understanding of the complex sequencing and interfaces required to successfully deliver rail projects. He is experienced in managing large project teams and enjoys getting the best out of people. He is goal focused and will explore all possible solutions to achieve the results

Senior Project Manager Civil – Sydney Light Rail Project                                                  2013 – Present

Responsible for the delivery of the civil works on the Sydney Light Rail Project. Preparation of scopes and tender documentation for PPP contract. Review delivery program and develop construction staging methodologies. Stakeholder management with City of Sydney, RMS, TMC, Sydney Trains, and other Tier 1 and Tier 2 Stakeholders. Provide management support to investigation team. Coordinate delivery works across multiple groups within the project and report progress and review PPP EOI submissions and preparing tender assessments and reports.

 

Constructability Consultant – Northern Sydney Freight Corridor – Phase 1                          2012 – 2013

Responsible for construction sequencing, staging and program. Assisted with scope identification and concept development. Provide support in developing the construction staging and delivery sequencing for both ETTT and GPL which has also been adopted by the contractor’s delivering the works. Carried out design reviews and early works identification. Stakeholder and interface management, service relocation scoping and agreements, and assistance in the procurement process.  Provided constructability and management support to the projects.

Rail Systems Manager / Construction Manager Rail – Southern Sydney Freight Line    2010 – 2013

Managed the Rail Systems and Services portfolio which included managing a multi-disciplined team of 28 (at its peak).  The portfolio included the delivery of Track, Signals, Overhead Wiring, Commissioning and External Service Relocations and RailCorp Service Relocation for the Project. (Total Rail Systems Budget $230m).   Involved in decision making regarding strategy and direction, proactively interfaced with members of the leadership team (in particular the Civil Construction Manager, Operations Manager, Project Director and Design Manager) to ensure the successful commissioning of the stages. Interfacing with stakeholders (in particular RailCorp) opened the way for improved access and support to deliver the service relocations.  Heavily involved in the procurement of an Alliance Partner as a wider Evaluation Team member and establishing of KPI/KRA’s and became a member of the AMT.

RailCorp

Project Manager / Snr Project Manager – Lidcombe to Granville Corridor Upgrade          2007 – 2010

Responsible for developing program, scope, and budget in the feasibility and concept stages. This translated into developing risk registers, methodologies, project plans, procurement models and later the business cases to secure the capital budget through the governments “Gateway Process”.

Laing O’Rourke

Project Engineer – Chatswood Transport Interchange                                                         2005 – 2007

Responsible for delivering civil and rail works on the Chatswood Transport Interchange.  The works included the construction management of four new bridges; 110m Northern Viaduct; Track Works; Electrical Works; and Road Works Packages.  Managed discrete subcontractors and stakeholders (RailCorp, Council, RTA) to deliver the works on time and to budget. Managed shutdowns of the Chatswood CBD to install the new bridges. This required significant interfacing with the local authorities, bus companies, RTA and RailCorp.
