Daniel’s Professional career spans over 19 years with experience in both government rail entities and private enterprise. Daniel has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University or Technology, Sydney with first class honours; he is also a Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
Daniel has close links with the rail industry in NSW and is a committee member of the NSW Permanent Way Institution, having been the PWI editor from 1999 – 2008 establishing contacts throughout NSW, Australia and in the UK.
Daniel’s strengths lay in his ability to combine his workshop facilitation and leadership skills with his project management, design experience and site delivery experience, in this way Daniel combines with the other members of Rail Planning Services to deliver a truly balanced team of rail experienced professionals.
Career Highlights and Major Projects
•Intimate knowledge of the rail planning and staging process with over 20 major project staging and constructability workshop facilitations since 2000. Application of the facilitation and staging technique to both government and private enterprises at various project phases from feasibility to commissioning.
•4.5 Years as Project Director on the integration of a $2.2B Rail ‘Clearways’ comprising 12 major infrastructure projects into the live network for RailCorp, NSW
•2 Years as sole Project/Operations manager for Tunneltech Pty Ltd, actively leading in specialist contracting in explosives, slope remediation and structural steel fabrication for the NSW Construction and Mining Industry
•4 months UK based tendering for UK Ministry of Defence facilities management contracts for Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick including naval bases, RAF airfields and defence housing portfolios.
•Project Management, working up from Site engineer, on various large rail infrastructure projects including initial planning of the Epping Chatswood Rail Link interfaces at Chatswood and Epping, program and quality roles on the fitout of the New Southern Railway (airport link) tunnel, NSR grade separated junctions, major bridge construction including Camellia bridge over the Parramatta River, major stabling upgrades and track reconstruction projects
•10+ years as a cadet and junior site engineer with ‘hands on’ project and site experience in multi-disciplined rail construction and maintenance activities with RailCorp and predecessor organisations
