With a career spanning 36 years as a professional engineer in the rail industry, Andrew has a strong background in railway civil engineering. His most recent position involved technical analysis and strategic management of the wheel rail interface for the Sydney train system, as well as standards development, track condition monitoring and incident investigation. He previously held positions as a project manager, civil engineering advisor, system safety auditor, incident investigator, civil maintenance engineer and construction project engineer.
With Career highlights including extensive investigation and analysis of rail squat issue on Sydney rail network. Presented 2 papers on this subject to Conferences on Railway Engineering, in 2008 and 2012, investigation and development of rail lubrication practices, delivery of extensions to Blacktown stabling siding, including track, signals, overhead wiring and other services and the construction of some 55 rail and road bridges, and other rail infrastructure.
