Project Engineer – Bauhinia Electrification Project QLD – $120 Million 2013 – 2015
Associated with this project prior to commencement on site through to commissioning and handover. The D&C contract involved the electrification of 110km of freight line in Central Queensland (FIFO). Responsible for providing status reports, forecasts and resultant schedules on a weekly basis to management. Identified resources and requirements, assigned responsibilities and coordinated with project delivery staff directly to ensure successful completion of project. Tracked project progression using project management tools and self-developed tracking spreadsheets.
Managed and coordinated construction on site – coordination of labour and other engineering staff, Supervised and coordinated timely delivery of equipment and materials. Established safety and QA procedures for all activities, worked intimately with the design team to ensure we provided a value for money solution, coordinated work with clients and client-representatives to ensure all work was signed off on schedule and managed sub-contractors on site including contracts.
Project Engineer – Southern Sydney Freight Line – $17 Million 2012
The project involved the track work component of the Southern Sydney Freight Line (SSFL) from Villawood to Macarthur for 32km. Responsible for the management of the construction of three turnouts and straight track between Campbelltown and Glenfield. Organising and Coordinating Protection officers to work crews on a daily basis (up to 8 work crews on any one day spread out over the project). Planning and delivery of weekend possession works, coordination of labour and plant on site. Planning and supervising the loading of rail wagons to deliver the second-hand rail to the project locations and organisation of access for and delivery of all materials in a small rail corridor, including concrete sleepers and ballast.
Site Engineer | K7 Wharf Extension, NSW – $118 Million 2011 – 2012
This project involved constructing a 360m wharf and associated conveyor extension together with all land based structures to support the functionality and access to the wharf. Involved in the final stages of the project mainly responsible for the wharf fit-out and some major land-based concrete structures.
Responsibilities included planning and programming works in consultation with the site supervisory staff and the client. Liaising regularly with the client representatives in relation to design, quality and program. Ensuring site works progress to a high standard, in relation to both quality and safety. Material Takeoffs and Material Procurement, cost tracking and reporting to the Quantity Surveyor
Development and review of all task specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and supervision of on-site implementation of control measures. Development of all Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and Inspection and Test Checklist (ITC) with reference to client procedures and Australian Standards. Management of subcontractors – SWMS review, Quality inspections, contract management.
Planner| RRL- Package B EOI, VIC – Potentially $800 Million 2011 – 2012
RRL – Package B was one of 7 packages that formed Regional Rail Link Authority. It was a large project involving the design and construction of a new rail line in an already congested rail corridor including new stabling yard. The majority of work was conducted in a brown field site next to an operational rail line.
