Chris Whetters – Engineering Credentials

Congratulations to Chris Whetters, Senior Associate – Electrical at Rail Planning Services, for recently achieving the Chartered (CPEng), NER and international engineering credentials through Engineers Australia.

Chris is an electrical engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the rail industry. He has exceptional technical knowledge in various aspects of heavy rail electrical infrastructure including power systems, HV distribution and traction overhead systems. Chris has recently branched out into light rail, Zero Emission Buses and other non-heavy rail areas.  Chris is currently carrying out the role of Power Analyst on TfNSW’s MTMS and NIF Programs, developing Electrical Network Operator Procedures for MTS and consulting on overhead traction constructability for Queensland Rail.

These credentials are a testament to an engineer’s qualifications, knowledge and experience, as they are based on internationally recognised engineering education and competency standards, and are an essential step toward state registration for engineers.  Rail Planning Services is committed to supporting our people on their journey to achieving and maintaining their credentials, as we work toward a fully credentialed workforce, contributing to our culture centred around competency, professionalism and excellence.
