The Sydney CBD & South East Light Rail involved the construction of 12km’s of new track including 20 new stops, a stabling facility at Randwick and a new maintenance facility at Rozelle. Rail Planning Services were procured to assist in the client-side management of the design development and contractor procurement phases (in particular, the PPP works).

Our scope included development of staging plans, scope development, program reviews, contract documentation, tender support, management of the project team, stakeholder negotiations including coordination with RMS and City of Sydney.

Rail Planning Services provided ongoing coordination with other project teams including Engineering, Shadow Operations, Property, Commercial, Communications, Planning, and the Executive Team; and were instrumental in negotiating the road closures and configuration constraints which will greatly assist in providing certainty to the PPP to stage and deliver the works.

Now in operation, the CBD & South East Light Rail plays a key role in enabling Sydney’s transport future by transporting thousands of customers between Sydney’s Inner West suburbs and Central, and between the CBD and Randwick or Kingsford in the South Eastern suburbs.
