The CRN links broad areas of regional NSW to interstate and metropolitan rail systems and in addition supports, customers transporting coal, grain, cotton, minerals and containerised freight to domestic and export markets. The network covers 2,386 route kilometres of operational passenger and freight rail lines and 3,139 route kilometres of non-operational lines.
Rail Planning Services was engaged to review the integrity of documentation to present to the marketplace for tendering purposes. Scope included examination of available condition reports and other documentation, including WATSA, ASA Annual Report on Performance, CRN Annual Asset Condition Report and the Asset Management Plan.
Our team interviewed John Holland Rail (JHR) personnel regarding asset maintenance processes, conducted site inspections of sample assets and assessed current condition of assets against their reported condition. A report documenting all findings was provided to the TfNSW.
