The MTMS Stage 2 program is an integrated delivery plan to implement service improvements on the T4, T8 and South Coast lines. As part of MTMS Stag 2 North Program, power and signal upgrade works on the T8 Airport and East Hills Line will enable an increase in services from 14 tph to 16 tph for International Airport, Domestic Airport, Mascot and Green Square stations. This includes OHW, substation and traction supply upgrades and new substations at Mascot and Wolli Creek). All works integrate with sensitive brownfield areas with complex interfaces with existing rail infrastructure.
Rail Planning Services team members where integrated into the TfNSW team to assist with the delivery of the Airport Tunnel Upgrade works. Our team carried out multi discipline design reviews for constructability and compliance with ASA and Australian standard. The reviews were carried out at PDR, CDR and AFC design submissions. Scope included documentation of comments and followed through to a satisfactory close out through further reviews and comment close out meetings.
Our team challenged contractor’s methodology for construction activities and provided early identification and resolution of issues. The team also provided reviews of variation claims for validity of claims, providing reasons for claim adjustments and or rejection.
