The South West Rail Link included a major upgrade of Glenfield Station (including bus/rail interchange) and a new twin track passenger rail line from Glenfield to Leppington via Edmondson Park (including rail flyovers).
Rail Planning Services were engaged for technical reviews of the rail system, stations and passenger interface for the design packages. Responsibilities included:
- Led the live rail environment possession planning;
- Led stakeholder interface management; and
- Constructability input (including coordination with multiple stakeholders) for design and methodologies for relocation of major external utilities.
The New South Wales (NSW) government officially opened the link in February 2015, one year ahead of the original schedule, and $300m under the initial estimated budget.
