Wynyard Walk

Wynyard Walk will provide a world-class, fully-accessible pedestrian link between Wynyard Station and the developing CBD western corridor and Barangaroo. The works involve the construction of a 110 metre underground pedestrian connection between Wynyard and Kent Street, a new pedestrian bridge over Sussex Street and a new western entrance to Wynyard on Clarence Street. This will allow pedestrians to travel from Wynyard transport hub to the Barangaroo waterfront in approximately six minutes, avoiding steep inclines and all road crossings. The project will increase the entry/exit capacity of Wynyard Station to meet current and future demands for the CBD’s western corridor and waterfront. This includes catering for the proposed Barangaroo development, which is expected to accommodate up to 23,000 office workers and attract up to 33,000 visitors per day, when complete.

  • In November 2013 Rail Planning Services were engaged to provide Project Management Services to assist in the construction management of the Clarence Street Portal works. These services included project strategies such as procurement, delivery, construction, commissioning operations etc.  In addition, the role includes contract management, cost tracking schedule, project plan and monthly reporting.

  • RPS have been instrumental in managing the delivery of the Clarence Street Portal works.  Our hands-on experience in delivering large infrastructure projects has been key to supporting the client to deliver this complex inner-city project. As a result of the work we have undertaken, our scope has grown to include greater involvement across the entire program.
